FAITH FORMATION

"At the heart of catechesis we find, in essence, a Person, the Person of Jesus of Nazareth, the only Son from the Father…who suffered and died for us and who now, after rising, is living with us forever.”
Catechism of the Catholic Church (462)

Lifelong Faith Formation
At Sacred Heart, we offer formation for all ages.  We have events and programs at the parish, community outreach activities, and opportunities to learn from home.  We hope that you'll visit the programs that interest you. Our Director of Faith Formation, Mrs. Amy Cheevers, would be happy to speak with you regarding your formation questions.

In this diocesan initiative we will:
  • Restore: The natural sequence of the  Sacraments of Initiation: Infant Baptism, then Confirmation and First Eucharist in 3rd Grade.
  • Renew: Strengthen our youth ministry and adult faith formation processes.
  • Proclaim: At the heart of all this is a desire to form disciples of all ages.
Everything we teach as catechists comes back to the essential point of the Personhood of Christ and our relationship with Him.  It is not our teachings we offer, but those of Christ and His Holy Church which are rooted in the Gospels. We catechize with the goal of encouraging a lifelong learning and deepening love of the Faith. Our parish reaches out to cradle Catholics as well as those just starting on their journey into the beautiful and eternal Catholic faith.
